It was time for another Wiltshire wedding on Saturday, this time up near Malmesbury at the lovely Whatley Manor for the wedding of Amanda & Ben. I met up first with Amanda who was getting ready with her bridesmaids at the hotel in an amazing multi-level suite – perfect for all those girly preparations! I photographed Amanda’s details whilst she had her hair and make-up done, including her beautiful Caroline Castigliano dress with navy blue sash.
Next I headed over to the Church of the Holy Cross in nearby Sherston where Ben and his groomsmen had just dragged themselves away from the pub to great the arriving guests! Soon enough it was time to photograph Amanda’s arrival and grand entrance into the church ready for the ceremony. And it was a really lovely ceremony – full of laughter and lots of little glances between the couple. I love it when I’m able to be at the front of the church or ceremony room in order to capture these sort of moments as they are often some of my favourites from the whole day!
After the ceremony it was time for everyone to head back to Whatley Manor for the reception. Amanda and Ben were keen to get their couple’s portrait session and group formals done as soon as possible so they could relax into the rest of their drinks reception and enjoy themselves with guests, so we made that a priority. There were lots of lovely locations around the hotel grounds for the couple’s portraits whilst the guests enjoyed champagne and canapes (including some amazing ones called ‘pea foam’ which I’d never seen before!).
