I had hoped to get some pictures from Jo and Martin’s wedding up on the blog today but I’ve run out of time :( so hopefully this fab picture featuring one of the many lovely details from their day will keep everyone going until next week!

Great picture Caroline. Nice to see you’re straight back into the swing of things. The second of this week’s three weddings was at my favourite local venue…Ston Easton Park in Somerset. Lauren and Matt are from America but studied over here in the UK when they were younger, and they decided to get married over here because they love the country so much! It can’t have been easy planning a wedding from across the Atlantic – they hadn’t even been able to visit their venue before arriving just before the wedding – but I think Lauren pulled it off without a hitch. It was an intimate event with only 8 people including Lauren and Matt themselves so the ceremony took place in the library at Ston Easton Park, which was the perfect size. The service included some lovely readings by bridesmaid Mariah and best man Nick and I don’t think there was a single person who didn’t get emotional – which makes a nice change when you’re used to the British reservedness! Afterwards Lauren, Matt and I snuck away for some portraits around the grounds of the hotel whilst everyone else enjoyed drinks and canapes outside. Despite being interrupted several times by wandering cats we managed to get some lovely images, making the most of the gardens. Then there was just enough time for a game of croquet before everyone retired inside for the meal. Congratulations Lauren & Matt! Below are some images from Lauren & Matt’s day…the full set will go online in a few weeks time (once the couple have had a chance to see them first). Since I am Lauren’s paternal grandmother, I just might be a bit biased, but I think they make the most beautiful and handsome bride and groom I have seen in many years!!! On behalf of my late husband and Lauren’s grandfather, Jim Finn, I wish them a very happy marriage and that it will last for many, many years…..or “until death do us part.” I believe that Lauren and Matt have known each other for several years and their relationship has had the opportunity to weather some tests. All of us who have been married for nearly fifty years or more, know that it takes a lot of love, work, love, commitment, love, forgiveness, love, unselfishness and making sure that their marriage is the number one priority in their lives. With that understanding, everything else will fall into place where it should be. With congratulations and much love, Grandma Pat 26 August, 2011 - 11:48 pm

Caroline, The photos are beautiful! Can’t wait to see more, of course! Matt and Lauren look absolutely stunning. Ston Easton looks alluring and what an intimate party we are. Thank you! Deborah (groom’s mom) This is the start of a very busy period of weddings for me with three this week alone! And it was off to a great start with Natalie and Craig’s lovely day at Dillington House on Saturday. It was a day filled with lots of emotion…tears from Natalie and daughter Katy and lots of laughter and fun – especially from the children who all had a blast bouncing around on space hoppers during the reception! Natalie was pretty calm and relaxed when I met up with her whilst she was finishing off her preparations. Her hair had already been styled and looked gorgeous and she was chilling out with a glass of champagne with a friend…what a great way to start the celebrations! After a little while I headed across to where Craig was getting ready with his best man and three sons. I think it’s fair to say that Craig had the worse side of the deal as he not only had to get himself ready but I saw him also helping out everyone else with their ties and button-holes. I was pleased to see that he had kept faithfully to the pink colour scheme and had even co-ordinated his socks! The ceremony took place in the Theatre room at Dillington House, which has huge arched windows all along one side letting in lots of light. Natalie was very emotional as she made her entrance and I love the picture I got of her as she first looks at Craig from the aisle. The service was concluded by a beautiful violin piece played by Natalie’s daughter Katy and then everyone made their way outside into the courtyard to congratulate the newleyweds. Natalie and Craig had opted for a late ceremony at 4.30pm which was fortunate as the showers from earlier in the day had passed and we had lots of lovely sunshine for the drinks reception on the croquet lawn. It also meant that the speeches were able to take place outside…something I always love. Congratulations Natalie and Craig! If you were a guest at the wedding and would like to see the full set of images (after the bride and groom have seen them first of course!) please visit here to register your details.

Really beautiful images I’ll admit to being slightly worried when Saturday morning dawned grey and gloomy with rain pouring down as I had been looking forward to photographing Justine & Michael’s wedding and a lot of the day involved outdoor activities – including an outdoor ceremony. But our luck was in and as I arrived at the farmhouse where everyone was getting ready the rain stopped and some blue sky was even visible in the far distance! I thought Justine might be a bit stressed out by the weather but not at all…she was completely relaxed about it which was a great attitude to take. With both her and Michael, as well as many of their family and friends, staying in the same location I was able to get pictures of both the bride and groom’s preparations before heading over to Mapperton House and Gardens for the ceremony. It’s not that often that I get the chance to photograph an outdoor ceremony so I really enjoyed Justine & Michael’s which took place under a little stone building in the gardens of Mapperton House, Dorset. The guests were all protected by a tent whilst they watched the service, but the rain stayed away. During the drinks reception in the beautiful gardens there was the odd shower but it didn’t dampen anyones spirits and soon passed. I took Justine & Michael off for their portrait session around the gardens before everyone headed off to the reception venue…River Cottage HQ just over the border into Devon. What a fantastic place River Cottage HQ is! It was an adventure from the start as everyone boarded a trailer being pulled by a tractor to make it down the steep hillside to Park Farm. Some people chose to keep warm by the wood burner in the yurt, whilst others enjoyed the sunshine in the vegetable gardens, where they helped themselves to strawberries and peas straight off the plants. And I couldn’t miss out on photographing the food preparations inside the kitchen! I don’t normally eat canapes at receptions as I don’t think it’s right for vendors to do so when they have been bought for the guests, but there were so many on offer at River Cottage that I just couldn’t resist and I can vouch for the food being AMAZING! Soon it was time for everyone to be seated inside the converted threshing barn for the speeches. And then just before dinner was served, head chef Neil came out to talk the guests through the menu….which sounded delicious! Beautiful! You both look so happy. What a great day (weekend)! 31 July, 2011 - 9:01 pm
loverly venue and i love the little details you have captured here Well after six months off on maternity leave it was finally back to work for me on Saturday with the wedding of Thabata and Mark in Bath. If I started off a bit rusty it all soon came flooding back to me as I got swept up in the nervous excitement of the bridal preparations with Thabata, the bridesmaids and her family. Thabata had chosen a gorgeous Jenny Packham wedding dress which suited her figure perfectly and she teamed it will a simple long lace veil and a stylish little shrug. As she neared the end of her preparations I headed over to Prior Park College where Mark was welcoming the guests and waiting for the arrival of his bride! I love photographing weddings in the chapel at Prior Park as it is such a beautiful place…full of light and amazing architecture that makes a wonderful backdrop for the ceremony. The service concluded with communion and the signing of the register, before Thabata and Mark led their guests outside. We made our way to the steps at the back of the college, which overlook the most fantastic view of Prior Park and the rooftops of Bath…and with it being such a lovely sunny day you could see for miles. After the group photographs were finished we sent everyone else over to the reception venue, Wick Farm, whilst Thabata, Mark and myself stayed behind to get some relaxed portraits.
