Somerset Wedding Photography at Tone Dale House – Jo & Martin

So the third of my weddings last week was that of Jo and Martin which took place at Tone Dale House in Somerset. Jo said during her pre-dinner speech that she had never dreamed of getting married when she was younger and that she always thought if she did then she’d do it in jeans! Well all I can say is that she must have gone from no ideas to LOADS of ideas because this wedding had so many lovely details that must have taken months to plan, source and make!

From the gorgeous vintage style dress to the bunting and photographs in the trees, to the “serve your own cider” bar in the garden to the amazing stationery for the invites, menus and place settings…it was all beautifully done.

I think it’s fair to say that Jo was pretty nervous when I first arrived as she was getting ready, so I tried my best to put her at ease. Tone Dale House is a big private house that you can hire out for events such as weddings, so the whole place was full of the couple’s family and friends getting ready for the celebrations. This meant I was able to pop between Jo and Martin’s rooms to cover both of them getting ready…which is always fun.

After the wedding ceremony the sun came out, so everyone made their way outside to enjoy some drinks and chatting on the lawns by the river. I stole Jo and Martin away for a few moments to get some romantic portraits of the two of them…even making use of one of the lovely little wedding details hanging from a nearby tree.

Congratulations Jo & Martin!!!

Jo & Martin’s full gallery will go online in a few week’s time (once the bride and groom have had a chance to view them first!) but you can register here to be notified when the gallery goes live. In the meantime here are a few images from their day:

Somerset Wedding Photography at Ston Easton Park – Lauren & Matt

The second of this week’s three weddings was at my favourite local venue…Ston Easton Park in Somerset. Lauren and Matt are from America but studied over here in the UK when they were younger, and they decided to get married over here because they love the country so much! It can’t have been easy planning a wedding from across the Atlantic – they hadn’t even been able to visit their venue before arriving just before the wedding – but I think Lauren pulled it off without a hitch.

It was an intimate event with only 8 people including Lauren and Matt themselves so the ceremony took place in the library at Ston Easton Park, which was the perfect size. The service included some lovely readings by bridesmaid Mariah and best man Nick and I don’t think there was a single person who didn’t get emotional – which makes a nice change when you’re used to the British reservedness!

Afterwards Lauren, Matt and I snuck away for some portraits around the grounds of the hotel whilst everyone else enjoyed drinks and canapes outside. Despite being interrupted several times by wandering cats we managed to get some lovely images, making the most of the gardens. Then there was just enough time for a game of croquet before everyone retired inside for the meal.

Congratulations Lauren & Matt!

Below are some images from Lauren & Matt’s day…the full set will go online in a few weeks time (once the couple have had a chance to see them first). If you would like to be notified when the gallery goes online please register here.

Patricia M. Finn - 26 August, 2011 - 9:36 pm

Since I am Lauren’s paternal grandmother, I just might be a bit biased, but I think they make the most beautiful and handsome bride and groom I have seen in many years!!!

On behalf of my late husband and Lauren’s grandfather, Jim Finn, I wish them a very happy marriage and that it will last for many, many years…..or “until death do us part.”

I believe that Lauren and Matt have known each other for several years and their relationship has had the opportunity to weather some tests. All of us who have been married for nearly fifty years or more, know that it takes a lot of love, work, love, commitment, love, forgiveness, love, unselfishness and making sure that their marriage is the number one priority in their lives. With that understanding, everything else will fall into place where it should be.

With congratulations and much love,

Grandma Pat

Somerset Wedding Photography at Dillington House – Natalie & Craig

This is  the start of a very busy period of weddings for me with three this week alone! And it was off to a great start with Natalie and Craig’s lovely day at Dillington House on Saturday. It was a day filled with lots of emotion…tears from Natalie and daughter Katy and lots of laughter and fun – especially from the children who all had a blast bouncing around on space hoppers during the reception!

Natalie was pretty calm and relaxed when I met up with her whilst she was finishing off her preparations. Her hair had already been styled and looked gorgeous and she was chilling out with a glass of champagne with a friend…what a great way to start the celebrations! After a little while I headed across to where Craig was getting ready with his best man and three sons.

I think it’s fair to say that Craig had the worse side of the deal as he not only had to get himself ready but I saw him also helping out everyone else with their ties and button-holes. I was pleased to see that he had kept faithfully to the pink colour scheme and had even co-ordinated his socks!

The ceremony took place in the Theatre room at Dillington House, which has huge arched windows all along one side letting in lots of light. Natalie was very emotional as she made her entrance and I love the picture I got of her as she first looks at Craig from the aisle. The service was concluded by a beautiful violin piece played by Natalie’s daughter Katy and then everyone made their way outside into the courtyard to congratulate the newleyweds.

Natalie and Craig had opted for a late ceremony at 4.30pm which was fortunate as the showers from earlier in the day had passed and we had lots of lovely sunshine for the drinks reception on the croquet lawn. It also meant that the speeches were able to take place outside…something I always love.

Congratulations Natalie and Craig!

If you were a guest at the wedding and would like to see the full set of images (after the bride and groom have seen them first of course!) please visit here to register your details.
