It’s been quite a long while since I had a chance to do some wedding photography by the sea so I really enjoyed Emily & James’ wedding down in Torquay on Saturday. Here is a little taster of the images I took and I’ll get a full blog post up later this week:
I’m really pleased that Tanya & James’ lovely wedding from last August has been featured in this month’s Wedding Ideas magazine on sale today. It’s not surprising as Tanya was a gorgeous bride and their day had some lovely pink themed details. Check it out on pages 160 and 161!
no comments Lucy’s inspiration for her wedding came from the cover of a vintage issue of Vogue magazine dating from 1960…the colours of the photograph on the cover had formed the basis of the colour scheme for her’s and Mike’s day. So I think it’s fair to say that Mike won immeasurable brownie points by tracking down an original copy of the magazine and giving it to Lucy as her wedding morning gift…now that’s what I call romantic! Lucy was very calm and relaxed as she got ready with her bridesmaids, enjoying pink champagne and “posh crunchie” chocolates whilst the finishing touches were being put to her hairstyle. I can’t say the same was true of Mike! When I arrived at the Webbington Hotel before the start of the ceremony Mike was very emotional…which I thought was lovely to see in a bloke. It was clear that he was just so happy to be marrying the girl of his dreams and as soon as the service was over he was showing off his wedding ring with pride! The ceremony was short but sweet – even with Lucy having to check that Mike was okay as she thought he looked UNhappy, and the registrar getting Mike’s name wrong! Afterwards everyone enjoyed the views from the terrace of the hotel whilst Lucy and Mike mingled with their guests and received lots of congratulations. Soon it was time for everyone to head over to nearby Lympsham where the meal was taking place in the village hall. Lucy and Mike were driven there in a VW camper van and we made a quick detour enroute to get some romantic portraits of the newly married couple. The hall itself looking amazing with loads of harvest-inspired decorations and bunting kindly made by a friend of the couple. Before the start of the meal the ushers had one final duty to perform…the parading of the cake of cheese around the guests! Congratulations Lucy & Mike!!! excellent photography, what brilliant memories this beautiful couple will be able to look back on I’m finally starting to catch up with myself and the blogging…so here (at last!) is a post about Emma & Rob’s wonderful wedding day last Saturday in Dorset. I met Emma & Rob just before I went on maternity leave earlier this year and I immediately liked them! They were such a likeable and decent couple…I was really pleased when they asked me to photograph their day. The planning and run up to the wedding wasn’t plain sailing as Rob’s Dad was very seriously ill and in hospital at one point, but to see him on Saturday well you’d never have known! And it was just lovely that he was able to be there to share their special day with them. As usual I started my coverage with the girls preparations…and this was one house stuffed full of girls getting ready. I’m not sure where they all came from but it could definitely be described as organised chaos…with dresses, flowers and make-up everywhere and various people getting locked in the bathroom on several occasions…including the bride! I just love that part of the day though were everyone is racing around getting ready…still in pajamas but with immaculate hair and make-up! After Emma was in her dress I left to make my way over to the church in Dorchester where I met up with Rob and the guys who were welcoming the guests. The service was lovely and Emma and Rob didn’t stop grinning and smiling at each other the whole way through…it was lovely to watch. The reception took place at Hooke Court near Beaminster and the guests enjoyed drinks and canapes outside whilst the children made the most of the bouncy castle and I took Emma & Rob off for some photos by the lake. Congratulations Emma & Rob!!!
