Wiltshire Wedding Photography – Poppy & Mark at The Larmer Tree Gardens

On Friday it was off to Wiltshire for me to photograph the wedding of Poppy & Mark at the wonderful Larmer Tree Gardens. What a lovely setting for a wedding…and Poppy & Mark had decided to make the most of what the venue had to offer by getting married in the little temple with all their guests sat outside in the grounds. Very romantic!

As usual I started the day’s coverage with the preparations of the bride and bridesmaids at nearby King John Inn, Tollard Royal, and was able to capture lots of the little details Poppy had prepared plus the escalating preparations of the girls! Then I made my way over to the venue to meet up with Mark and his groomsmen who were seating the last of the guests and eagerly awaiting Poppy’s arrival! As Poppy made her way across the lawn towards the temple she was assisted by her brother Jim.

After a beautiful and simple ceremony the newlyweds exited the temple to be congratulated by their friends and family. There was plenty of time for drinks and games on the lawns, followed a short while later by cream teas. I snuck Poppy and Mark away for some romantic couples portraits around the grounds, before everyone retired indoors for the wedding breakfast.

If you were a guest at Poppy & Mark’s wedding you can register to see the full picture gallery (after the bride and groom have seen them first of course!) by clicking HERE. In the meantime please enjoy a sneak preview of a few images from their day below:

Real Life Wedding Feature – Charlotte & Tim

I’m so pleased to see my photography of Charlotte & Tim’s wedding being featured in Your Bristol & Somerset Wedding magazine this month in the real life wedding article “Sweets for my Sweet”. Charlotte’s vintage inspired wedding at Halswell House was a joy to photograph last July and she had but a lot of effort and style into the day. They also had lots of treats for those with a sweet tooth including an ice cream van for guests, a sweetie bar and a delicious crocuembouche from Lick the Spoon. Here’s my favourite quote from Charlotte “We met Caroline Pilling at the Halswell House wedding fair and fell in love with her work, it is so beautiful and romantic. We would highly recommend her, she is so friendly and relaxed. We felt comfortable being photographed as she really put us at ease and took the most amazing shots.” Awww thanks guys – you’re making me blush!! Check out their wedding feature on pages 31-34 of the magazine which is on sale now.

Your Bristol & Somerset Wedding of the Year Competition – Round Two!

After announcing yesterday the exciting news that one of my wedding couples from March has won the first round of the Wedding of the Year competition being run by Your Bristol & Somerset Wedding magazine, I’m really pleased to share that another TWO of my wedding couples have been shortlisted for round two!

My first couple is Amanda & Chris who were married at the beginning of May at Halswell House. Click HERE to vote for them.

And my second couple is Charley & Fran, who were also married in May but at my favourite venue Ston Easton Park. To vote for them click HERE.

The overall winning couple will win the title of Wedding of the Year and an overnight break at a luxury Somerset hotel. Good luck to both couples!!

Jaqueline & Peter’s Pre-Wedding Portrait Session

Earlier this week I met up with another of this summer’s wedding couples to do their pre-wedding portrait session at Barrington Court. Jaqueline used to model so posing for my camera came quite naturally for her, but Peter wasn’t so keen. I think I managed to win him around in the end though! Here are a few images from their session:

Congratulations to Shelley & Mark – Wedding of the Year Finalists!

Hurray! I’m pleased to announce that one of my wedding couples has won the first round of the Wedding of the Year competition being run by Your Bristol & Somerset Wedding magazine. Shelley & Mark who were married at Halswell House in March will now go through to the final and be in with a chance of winning an overnight stay at a luxury Somerset hotel. Well done guys! You can check out what they have to say about their winning day on page 38 of the magazine which has just gone on sale. My favourite quote (of course!) is where they were asked whether any of their suppliers were particularly helpful and they said “We both really enjoyed working with Caroline, our photographer, as she put us at ease and gave us a set of photographs that we both treasure”.
