Wedding Photography at Orchardleigh House – Lindsey & Chris

My final wedding of 2012 took place at one of my favourite local venues and a fantastic place for wedding photography – at Orchardleigh House in Somerset. Lindsey & Chris’s family and friends took over the house and the place was bustling with activity when I arrived in the morning to photograph the preparations. The Bonita Suite where the bride traditionally gets ready was pretty chaotic – full of bridesmaids and small children in various stages of readiness – and poor Lindsey trying to remain in a state of zen-like calmness as the time of the ceremony due ever closer!

Fortunately for Lindsey and Chris their wedding at Orchardleigh was a civil ceremony in the main hall of the house so she didn’t need to worry about going very far once she was ready – just a short walk along the first floor corridor and down the grand sweeping staircase and through the aisle with smiling faces looking on either side – and Chris eagerly waiting her arrival at the front.

With the weather being fairly mild for November everyone made their way outside immediately after the ceremony to make the most of the last of the daylight and enjoy views across the open countryside beyond the house. I stole Lindsey and Chris away for a few portraits before quickly doing the formal group pictures they wanted so that people could get back inside to warm up.

Congratulations Lindsey & Chris!

Wedding Photography at Hestercombe Gardens – Kate & Michael’s Wedding

I love photographing weddings at Hestercombe Gardens as the grounds are just beautiful and each season brings a new feel to the gardens. And of all the seasons to photograph a wedding there my favourite is always autumn, where the colours in the trees make for an amazing backdrop to the portraits. Lucky Michael actually works at Hestercombe Gardens and so it wasn’t by accident that he chose this time of year to have his and Kate’s wedding there.

The wedding ceremony took place in the wonderful orangery in the centre of the gardens and Kate made her way through their, helped by her two brothers who were on hand to give her away to Michael. Once the official bit was over and done with the couple relaxed outside in the grounds with their family and friends – enjoying the canapes and drinks laid on by Hestercombe’s caterers.

Congratulations Kate & Michael!

Wedding Photography Taunton Somerset – Ganine & Steve’s Wedding

Ganine and Steve’s wedding was a fairly last minute booking for me…only a few weeks before their big day. Like many couples juggling a tight wedding budget they had planned to save money by not booking a professional photographer, intending instead to get their friends to take pictures. Fortunately for me (and for them!) they changed their mind and booked me to photograph their wonderful wedding in Taunton, Somerset. Here is what the couple had to say about it:

“Hi Caroline, Just wanted to say a huge “Thank You” for the amazing collection of photographs. We are really pleased with the end result. We are so glad that we took the decision to use your services as originally we said we would just let friends take photos and use those. So glad we didn’t! You really captured our personalities and sense of fun and the ones of our children are lovely too. We chuckled when we saw how big you made our tiny local church look! Our family and friends are all coming back with very positive comments after viewing the gallery and several have said they shed a tear! So once again thank you so much. Nin and Steve x”

Congratulations Ganine & Steve!

Bath Wedding Photography – Laura & Andrew’s Wedding at Cumberwell Park

Laura & Andrew booked me to photograph their wedding after seeing the album I did for their friend’s Katie & Paul’s wedding back in 2009. Laura & Andrew’s ceremony took place in the same church as Katie & Paul had theirs so it was nice to be back somewhere familiar. It’s a lovely, bright church that obviously has a very strong and close community and it was apparent how popular the couple were.

I did the rest of the wedding photographs at Cumberwell Park Golf Club, where the reception took place. This was a new venue for me and it was great to be inspired by the location and find some wonderful spots for taking relaxed portraits of the newly married couple.

Congratulations Laura & Andrew!

Wedding Photography Wiltshire – Castle Combe Manor Hotel – Jen & Calvin

Jen and Calvin’s wedding took place at the fabulous Castle Combe Manor Hotel in Wiltshire – a new venue for me! I always enjoy working somewhere new as it’s very inspiring to explore and seek out new locations for the portrait pictures and Castle Combe Manor Hotel had some lovely spots to choose from.

The Hotel is in the Cotswolds village of Castle Combe which is simply gorgeous and it feels like you’ve stepped back in time (or into a Harry Potter movie). The Hotel owns part of the village and Jen was getting ready in one of their quaint cottages with her two bridesmaids. Make sure you check out the picture of the bouquets – hand crocheted by the bride herself and very unique!

The ceremony took place in the main hotel and afterwards the guests were able to relax in the lounge area and outside whilst I whisked Jen and Calvin off for some pictures.

Congratulations Jen & Calvin!
