Wiltshire Wedding Photography – Tanya & James at the Larmer Tree Gardens

Another trip to the Larmer Tree Gardens in Wiltshire was in store for me on Saturday…to photograph the wedding on Tanya and James. I started the day as usual with the bride’s final preparations…Tanya was getting ready at the nearby Talbot Inn with her family and bridesmaids. She was surprisingly relaxed and laid back during her preparations and had planned plenty of time so she didn’t need to rush or get stressed out by it all…something that I think makes a big difference to start of your day! After her hair and make-up was complete Tanya opened the special card and gift James had left for her and then it was time to get dressed with the help of her mum. She looked absolutely stunning!

Once I’d photographed Tanya’s dad’s reaction to seeing his daughter as a bride I made my way over to the Larmer Tree Gardens to meet up with James and everyone else. Wiltshire is always a tricky county to photograph civil ceremonies in as the registrars have pretty strict rules on what photography is allowed during the ceremony. Luckily my registrars on Saturday were lovely and allowed me to capture some of the key moments from the back of the ceremony room as long as I didn’t make a nuisance of myself!

After the ceremony everyone made their way around to the main gardens where there was plenty of times for drinks, canapes and lawn games. I snuck away with Tanya and James for a while as I knew it was important for them to get some lovely romantic portraits of the two of them together. Before we knew it, it was time to be seated for dinner – but not before the speeches which were some of the funniest and most touching I’ve heard!
