Somerset Wedding Photography – Rachel & Jon at Spaxton

Saturday’s wedding was a slightly unusual one because everything, including the ceremony, took place at the bride’s home –  but that made it all the more special for Rachel & Jon! Because marriages must take place in licensed premises, the couple had to have the “official” part of things done early in the morning at the local registry office so the ceremony I photographed was simply a blessing – but for all intents and purposes it looked as official as any other service I’ve photographed! And what a lovely setting…on the veranda of Rachel’s parents house with all the guests sat outside in simple wooden chairs tied with ribbon bows.

I joined Rachel before the ceremony as she was having her hair finished off and was changing from the dress she’d worn to the morning registry office service, into her “proper” dress! She was anxious that every was running smoothly as she’d put so much effort into the finishing touches that decorated the garden – from gorgeous china centre pieces on the tables, to pretty floral bunting and colourful, painted jars with messages to the happy couple! And centre piece of the garden was the big yurt (sort of like marquee!) where everyone retired to for the picnic lunch.

It was a beautiful day and so personal to both Rachel & Jon. Below are some of my favourite pictures from the day.
