Vote for your favourite portrait!

During July & August we ran a promotion at the studio where we photographed children aged 0-12 for free and entered the images into the Kodak Portrait Awards.

Now that the Awards are over we have decided to run our own in-house competition. We need you to vote for your favourite image from those in the slideshow below, and the child with the most votes will receive an amazing prize! The deadline for voting is midnight on 9th October 2009 and the winner will be announced here on the blog on 13th October 2009.

The winner will receive their choice of either a 7″ Portable DVD Player (worth £79.99) OR a 20″ x 16″ canvas or framed wall portrait of an image from their session (worth £295) OR a portrait album with up to 20 images from their session (worth £475).

Below is a slideshow of all the images we entered into the Awards this year. Each image is numbered, please make a note of your favourite image and then click here to

*** UPDATE *** We have had to close the voting early as the maximum number of votes allowed by the polling software has now been reached. We will announce the winner later this week.

Becca & Ed’s Wedding – Ston Easton Park

What a gorgeous day Saturday day was! I’ve been missing the sunshine at weddings for a while now so it was great to have such lovely weather for Becca & Ed’s on Saturday. As usual I started with the girls, who were getting ready in the Gardener’s Cottage at Ston Easton Park. With a beautiful dress and three pairs of very high designer shoes to photograph, I knew the day was going to be a good one! Becca’s sister’s Laura and Clemmie were bridesmaids and they had the most amazing Alice Temperley dresses that had a very 1920’s feel to them.

Next I headed into Bath to meet up with Ed and the guys at the church. Ed isn’t keen on having his picture taken, but he humoured me and let me get a couple of him alone and with best man Hippo before the ceremony. Things started a little later than planned as Becca was delayed getting to church – you wouldn’t believe the number of buttons on her dress and each one seemed to take about 5 minutes to do up!

After the service everyone headed outside for congratulations and confetti and then it was back to Ston Easton for the reception. Becca, Ed and I snuck off for some portraits as soon as we arrived, so that they got to maximize their time with their guests. The beautiful weather meant that everyone could enjoy drinks and canapes outside in the sunshine, before it was time to head into the marquee for speeches and the wedding breakfast.

Becca & Ed’s full gallery will go online after 19th October, once they’ve been into the studio to see their images first. In the meantime here are some images from their day:

Melissa & David’s Wedding – Alexandra Hotel, Lyme Regis

After a few weeks off from weddings it was nice to get back into the swing of things with Melissa & David’s wedding on Saturday. Another trip down to Lyme Regis for me, to the Alexandra Hotel where I had been only a few weeks ago. The weather was a massive improvement on the last time I was there and we got to make use of the lovely hotel grounds and even ventured beyond to near the beach.

The morning started off with Melissa’s preparations, where she was helped by her mum into her bespoke-designed dress, made by Special Occasions in Worcestershire. Melissa’s mum explained some of the little details of the dress and accessories, including the use of Dorset buttons (for a Dorset wedding!) and the embroidered bee on Melissa’s bag (Melissa means bee in (I think it was) Greek!).

The ceremony took place in the hotel’s lounge overlooking the sea, and although short it was very sweet, with personalised vows, and Melissa and David couldn’t seem to keep their eyes off each other!

After congratulations from their guests the three of us slipped away for some couples portraits outside. Although we didn’t have time to make it all the way down to the beach we did manage to get some of the views in the background of some of the images. Then it was time for some mingling with their guests before heading into the dining room for speeches and the wedding breakfast.

Melissa & David’s full gallery will go online in a few weeks time, once they’ve been into the studio to see their images first. But in the meantime here are a few images from their day:
