Last Wednesday I braved the torrential rain and headed down to the coast for the wedding of Katy & Alex. Although not from the area, Katy had chosen the Alexandra Hotel in Lyme Regis because she had always wanted to get married by the sea. Unfortunately the weather couldn’t have been worse and put paid to any plans to enjoy the sea views in the gardens as it didn’t stop raining the entire day.
But Katy and Alex didn’t let the weather get them down…the most important thing was that they were getting married to each other. The ceremony was quite emotional for Alex, which was really sweet. And there were some great readings from both of the couple’s dads, not to mention Alex’s son Jamie who did a great job of being the ring bearer.
Although it was a shame everyone couldn’t enjoy the reception on the lawns outside, they still had a great time in the hotel’s lounge – even throwing confetti in there! And I didn’t mind getting a little bit wet in order to get some great images of Alex and Katy in the hotel’s doorway.
