Abby & James’ Wedding – Castle Hill

Well I think I put a jinx on the weather by speaking too soon in my last post! After a week full of such lovely sunshine (which I got to enjoy down in Dartmouth with my dog Poppy!) it was a horribly rainy day on Saturday for Abby & James’ wedding at Castle Hill in Barnstable.

By the time I arrived at Abby’s parents house I think she had accepted the weather situation and was in a fine mood. After Abby had helped her little niece and nephew into their outfits it was her own turn to get dressed and I think that putting on her beautiful dress made everything seem very real!

Next I headed over to Castle Hill to meet up with James and the best man. The interior of Castle Hill is very magnificent and the room in which Abby & James held their ceremony was no exception. Mary the registrar was fantastic and let me do whatever I needed to do to get the best coverage of the service – she was a breath of fresh air compared to some registrars/vicars I’ve met in the past!

Unfortunately because of the weather the guests weren’t able go outside to the courtyard for drinks, but there was plenty of room indoors for everyone to mingle and enjoy themselves. And thanks to a large porch-like area by the main entrance I was able to get photographs of Abby & James outdoors, but still keep them in the dry.

Abby & James’ full gallery will go online in a few weeks time after they’re back from honeymoon and have been into the studio to see their photographs for the first time. In the meantime here are a few images from their day:

Nice stuff. You did a grand job considering the conditions.
