Sarah & Steve’s Wedding – Minterne House & Lower Stockbridge Farm

Sarah & Steve’s wedding was unusual for me because it was so local! Normally I’m travelling all across the South West on a Saturday morning, but this weekend I only had to cross to the other side of town to meet up with Sarah, where she was getting ready at her friend Heather’s house.

The girls were very relaxed and Sarah remained calm and serene throughout the preparations. Next it was off to Minterne House, just over the border into Dorset, where they were to have their ceremony. After a brief tour around the house by the owner, Henry Digby, I got ready for Sarah’s arrival. The ceremony room was lovely and light, and I was even able to sneak up to the gallery for some overhead shots.

Afterwards Sarah, Steve and I headed off into the gardens whilst the guests made their way to Lower Stockbridge Farm, where the reception was taking place. Although it did start to rain a bit at this point, it didn’t put a dampener on things, and we were still able to get some lovely shots around Minterne Gardens.

Suppliers: Dress: Cathedral Brides, Wells; Cake: Lisa Notley Cakes; Flowers: The Flower Loft, Martock; Hair: Lizzy’s Mobile Hairdressing (07977 230696).

Sarah & Steve’s full gallery will go online in a few weeks time, once they’ve had a chance to come in and view their pictures first. But in the meantime here are some of my favourites from their day:

Sophie & Karl’s Pre-Wedding Portrait Session

Last week I was back at Stourhead Gardens for a pre-wedding portrait session with Sophie & Karl who are getting married in August. Hopefully the weather will be a lot nicer for their wedding day as it was a bit cold and drizzly on Friday! But that didn’t deter us from getting some lovely pictures – here are a few of my favourites:

Kids Wanted!

I am so excited to announce the details of a very exciting project I have been hatching over the past few months…our charity book project “Children of Somerset”. We are now officially starting our search for local kids to be photographed for inclusion in the book. If you would like your child/children to appear in the book all you need to do is complete an official nomination form and pay a £45 per child (£60 per family) nomination fee, which will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

I am waiving my regular session fee and donating all studio time involved in this project and hope to raise several thousand pounds for this fantastic charity. We aim to publish the limited edition coffee table art book later this year (hopefully in time for Christmas!) and proceeds from the book sales will also be donated to the charity.

To find out more information give us a call on 01935 848881. I have also just launched a dedicated Children of Somerset blog, which will be updated over the coming weeks with lots of information about how the project is progressing!

Katie & Paul’s Wedding – Priston Mill

The day after I got back from Atlanta I had an early start for Katie & Paul’s wedding in Bath. It was Easter Saturday and despite the usually awful bank holiday weather we had a gloriously warm and sunny day – Katie’s dad Keith said he’d put in a good word especially!

The wedding service took place at St Bart’s church in Bath, where Katie and Paul both attend regularly, and this made for a really personal and lovely service. The light in the church was fantastic, and most of the time it was casting a lovely pool of light right down on Katie, as you can see in the image below.

After some congratulations and confetti outside the church it was off to nearby Priston Mill for their reception. The fine weather continued and the guests were able to enjoy drinks and canapes outside on the lawns, whilst Katie, Paul and myself went off exploring around the Watermill for some photo opportunities!

Suppliers: Dress: Sara Lou, Derby; Flowers: Rachel Lilley, Bath; Stationery: With Love Wedding Stationery.

Katie and Paul’s full gallery will go online in a couple of weeks time, once they’re back from honeymoon and have been in to the studio to view their images. In the meantime here are a few images from their day:

Studio Closed

Just a little update to let everyone know that the studio will be closed for all of next week as I’ll be away in Atlanta on a workshop. Education is very important to me and this workshop will help me evolve and grow the portraits side of my business so that I can continue to provide the high level of service I promise my clients!

I will still be responding to emails, but phone calls will be returned when the studio re-opens after Easter.
