Limited Availability for 2009 Weddings

Over the past couple of weeks dates for 2009 weddings have been been booking up rapidly and I just wanted to let everyone know that I’ll be taking on only 5 more weddings for next year.

I always limit the overall number of weddings I do in a single year so that I can give each couple the personal attention they deserve. So if you’d like to have me photograph your 2009 wedding please do get in touch as soon as possible.

With regards to 2010 weddings, the pricing for these will come into effect on 1st December 2008. Anyone who has already arranged to meet me with regards to their 2010 wedding or wishes to do so in December will have until 31st December 2008 to take advantage of 2009 pricing. For bookings taken after this date the new 2010 pricing will apply.

To check my availability for your 2009 or 2010 wedding please get in touch today via the contact form on my website.

Another thank you!

I recently received a lovely thank you card from one of my wedding couples – Hannah & James – who were married at the end of August. Here’s what they wrote:

Dear Caroline

James and I are absolutely thrilled with our wedding album. I can’t stop looking through it, as you captured the whole day perfectly. All the emotions we felt during each part of the day come flooding back when we look at the super photos.

From the moment James and I met you at Prior Park we felt so at ease. On the wedding day itself you were such a calming influence I really didn’t notice you were there, and the occasions when I did – it felt like you were an old friend! Just taking some shots of us!!

The pre-wedding shoot is also a superb idea – so beneficial – yet providing some treasured photographs for James and I, and family, to keep. You have such a talent – and James and I are delighted with the results.

We look forward to seeing you again for my sister’s wedding in 2009 – with much love Hannah & James xx

Awww! I really appreciate it when someone takes time out of their busy, post wedding lives to write something like this to me – it makes me love my job even more!

A lovely message…

The other day I received this wonderful testimonial from Julia Wilson of JDW Weddings. Julia was the wedding planner at one of my weddings this summer and she was an absolute star – ensuring the day went smoothly with no delays, and sorting out all of the little details so the bride could truly enjoy herself. You can learn more about her on her website: www.jdwweddings.co.uk.

Here is what she wrote about me:

I met Caroline at Emma and Stuart Dowden’s wedding at Ston Easton Park in August this year at which I was their wedding planner.  I had heard so much about Caroline and everything Emma and Stuart was telling me made my expectations of Caroline very high indeed.  As a wedding co-ordinator I do obviously meet a lot of photographers and believe me the difference is staggering.  I was so impressed with Caroline’s pre wedding photo shoot and the detail she went to with the bride and groom, you could really tell that she was passionate about photography and above all else weddings!

Before meeting Caroline I had spoken on the phone a couple of times and straight away we were singing from the same hymn sheet.  I could tell this was going to be one amazing wedding.  My expectations were exceeded when we actually met on the 24th August in the bride’s hotel room!  Caroline made my job so easy and she was a pleasure to work with.  She was totally professional, focused, kind, understanding and had a vision of what photo’s she wanted and above all help made the couple’s day their dream wedding.  They were taken so quickly and naturally, you would even know she was there.  How amazing is that?  A true talent.

One thing that also stood out for me was going that extra mile for the couple.  For example Caroline had taken some of the pre-wedding shoot photo’s and put together a guest book like no other which was beautiful and many guest commented on.

The results – well, I have never seen such natural, fun, romantic and posed photo’s – simply brilliant.

Thanks Julia! I hope to work with you again in the near future.

What are you wearing?

Well, it was a wedding-free weekend for me just gone, and although I missed shooting it was great to be able to watch The X Factor live, rather than falling asleep during the recorded version at midnight!

I still had a pretty busy weekend including a fashion shoot for Susan Hinkley at Parham House Brides in Dunster on Friday. My lovely bride Mandy (who had sourced her Jenny Packham dress from Susan’s bridal shop) very kindly agreed to model for us and she looked absolutely stunning in the two gorgeous dresses that Susan had picked out. We started out shooting inside the Luttrell Arms in Dunster, before moving outside and using the doorway of one of the shops in the medieval high street. Here are a couple of the shots I took:

On Saturday I had three client meetings and booked a lovely couple in for their wedding next May. Fiona and Lee had travelled down from London and are getting married at the wonderful Rectory Hotel in Crudwell, Wiltshire, where I shot Becky & Jon’s wedding earlier this year. It will be the first of two weddings I’ll shoot there next year as I also have Charlotte & Matt’s in October!

In the afternoon, I got the chance to catch up with Jo & Matt whose wedding I covered at the end of September. They are now back from their fantastic honeymoon in South Africa and I really enjoyed hearing about it before showing them their wedding photographs and the album design I had created for them. Thankfully they loved them!

I also met with another couple who are getting married next year and the bride, Rachael, told me about this excellent website she’d come across called www.whatruwearing.co.uk where you can register your event and then guests can check to see what everyone else is wearing, so they don’t turn up in the same outfit! How great is that? I’ve not noticed anything this year but I remember that last year there was a particularly bold green and white Next dress that was turning up at most of the weddings I shot, and a couple of times two women had the same dress – and one time there were three women all wearing it! I did try to take a picture of all three of them, but they were studiously avoiding standing too close together – boo!

On Sunday there was just enough time to take my dog Poppy for a lovely long walk up on Ham Hill before heading over to visit my friend Lou, who I haven’t had a chance to see since the beginning of August! She cooked me a lovely lunch and it was great to catch up with her for a while.

I hope you all had great weekends too?
