Exciting New Album Design Style

You might remember me mentioning in an earlier post that the seminar I recently attended in Southport was going to result in some changes to my business…well, I can now unveil one of the most important changes.

As from 1st July 2007 I will be introducing a new album design style which will enable clients to have a story that includes many more of their wedding images than in my previous designs. Below is an example of how these designs will look – click on the play icon to start the slideshow. This design is currently being produced as a sample album so clients will soon be able to see it in person.

If you are an existing client – yet to have your album designed – and would like to enquire about upgrading to this style of album please get in touch.

I would love to get some feedback on what people think of this design – please feel free to leave comments or email me at info@carolinepilling.com

Natalie & Richard’s Wedding

Ok, so here is the third of my three-in-a-week weddings…Natalie & Rich got married at Netherbury church with their reception at the Old Barn, Tincleton – near Dorchester.

Natalie walked to the church from her parents house (luckily it didn’t rain!) and up the steep path to the church whilst all of the guests lined the pathway. Rich was waiting outside for her and watched her walk up the steps before entering the church himself, followed shortly after by Natalie and her dad, and then finally all the guests! It was an unusual but lovely start to the ceremony.
Here are a few photographs from their day….

Sign the Ceremony Photography Petition

You may remember I mentioned recently about the wedding I photographed in Wiltshire where photography during the ceremony was “banned”. Well this problem is coming up more and more often with individual registrars or vicars deciding to make up their own rules about whether photography is allowed or not during the ceremony.

Despite what some might claim there is nothing illegal about photographing ANY part of the ceremony and although most issue these “rules” believing they are in the best interest of the bride and groom – it is actually the couple who lose out. With no photographic record of this very special part of their wedding day.

What makes matters so much worse is that most professional photographers will photograph the ceremony very respectfully and without using intrusive flash. However many guests are not informed of the particular “rules” regarding photography and flash away with their own cameras throughout the whole event.

Anyway – enough of my rant! A fellow photographer has decided to do something officially to try and prevent these situations by raising a petition with 10 Downing Street to get guidelines issued nationally regarding how photography during the ceremony should be handled. So that there is a more common approach across the country.

If you feel as strongly as me that couples should have this part of their wedding day recorded – if they want it recorded- then click on the link below and add your name to the petition.

Sarah & Phil’s Wedding

You may remember one of my first posts on this blog was about Sarah & Phil’s pre-wedding session that we did on the beach down in Bournemouth…well, last Friday it was their wedding – finally!

The day started out with Sarah’s preparations at home before their ceremony at Highcliffe Castle. By the time the ceremony was over the rain had passed and a beautiful warm and sunny day followed – allowing us to get some more photographs on the beach.

The reception took place at the Old Barn, New Milton and everyone had a great time – including me!

Wedding Season in Full Swing….

Well, last week saw me entering the main wedding season…I now have weddings pretty much every weekend until the end of October! And what a way to start off…three weddings in one week!

First off Sarah & Dave’s wedding from last Tuesday was at the Larmer Tree Gardens in Wiltshire. It was a very informal affair in lovely surroundings – the only shame was that I wasn’t allowed to take photographs during the service – apparently it’s “the rules” in Wiltshire – which seems such a shame as it’s the couple who end up missing out on the memories of that very special part of the day.

Anyway, I still managed to create some wonderful photographs for them that I can’t wait to show them when they return from their honeymoon!
